Lakshadi Ayurvedic Massage Oil for babies
Lakshadi oil or thailam is an ayurvedic herbal oil mainly meant for babies prepared using twelve ayurvedic ingredients as quoted in the ancient ayurvedic text of Ashtanga Hrudayam. The base oil used here is the healthy moisturizing sesame oil rich in whey protein that helps to soothe and soften babies’ skin. The extracts of Turmeric, Sandalwood and Kutaki involve enhancing soft, radiant skin and preventing skin scarring. Deodar and Dill extracts’ presence helps protect the baby from fever, cough, and cold. Nutgrass, Costus, and Licorice extracts have a natural antibacterial activity that helps the skin fight against infection and makes them soft and smooth. The traditional practice of using the Lakshadi massage oil for babies is mainly in Kerala.
